Welcome to Safi

History of our "Riad".

Safi itself is a large town full of history. Our Riad (villa) belonged in olden times to a powerful lord (caïd) of the region. The seaport lies opposite the villas walls. In those times, Safi was the gateway to Morocco for merchants and diplomats, it was in fact the main port serving Marrakech.
Take a stroll along the alleyways of the medina (old town) facing the ocean, discover the hill of potteries and you will see that Safi has kept her authenticity and that her people (les Safiots) are a welcoming people.

The villa is located at the foot of the medina facing the sea, this location giving a magnificent view from both the terrace and the dining room across the ocean, to the castle and across the to the old town.
At the end of a quiet medieval street, the villa lies within close proximity to a wealth of little authentic shops and cafes, the world-famous hill of potteries, the fishing port and also not far from banks and other administrative businesses. The beach is just 15 minutes easy walk by foot.
The entire property has recently been restored over several months taking account of its historical richness and without losing its authenticity, but now ensures the provision of modern comfort and facilities to welcome you. Every bedroom has a private bathroom, air conditioning and of course Wi-Fi.
The soul of our villa’s life centres around the terrace and little sitting areas that welcome you on every floor.
The favourite spot of guests is the belvedere with its panoramic view. You can relax there, leisurely take your breakfast, taste the delicious traditional food prepared to your liking by H’nia; maybe fish fresh from the catch of the day landed at the port, or one of many possible tajines. There is also always the possibility of a vegetarian option (with prior notice).
